Rodan and Fields Big Island team is raising funds to send the homeless keiki on Big Island back to school with their school uniform needs!
It is a little known fact that while all school require a uniform t-shirt, the homeless children are NOT given even one for free... they are forced to sign a promise to pay, and then will be denied access to school functions including graduation if not paid! For a child who is living in extreme poverty and doesn't have access to basic daily needs, this is sometimes too much for the family and the children end up not going to school, or in dirty shirts and being bullied, etc.
Furthermore, and even more disturbing is if the middle or high school student doesn't have their PE Uniform and Athletic shoes they can not participate and will receive a failing grade... so, now these under privileged children who are already suffer from malnutrition are not able to stay active at school.
Here are some simple ways to make a difference today! Help these children go back to school prepared!
  • A school uniform t-shirt $7.
  • A package of socks $7.
  • A school PE uniform $15.
  • A new pair of athletic shoes: $25.
